Hi ladies,
I'm new here and have been digging around, reading about Tracey's books and videos and am totally psyched! The Sexy in 6 program actually sounds realistic for a busy mom! ...unlike everything else I've tried in the last five years...
I'm due with Baby #3 in about 6 weeks and am determined to get my body back this time. I started this pregnancy 40 lbs overweight and have managed to only gain 13 lbs so far by limiting my carbs and not overeating like everyone has told me to do my previous pregnancies (in other words, I'm eating for ONE, not two this time around). But I still have those 40 lbs from my FIRST baby that really need to BE GONE both for health reasons and, of course, vanity ;)
I know alot about nutrition and have been eating lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, good meats, and good fats my entire life. I think I'm getting stuck when it comes to portion sizes. I used to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and however MUCH I wanted and stayed about Tracey's size. My first pregnancy, I ballooned, gaining 55 lbs and haven't been able to lose anything since. I don't have time to workout for an hour a day like so many other exercise programs say, and all the diets I've tried that focus on healthy eating are no different from how I've eaten my whole life, so they don't work for me :(
I haven't been able to exercise much at all this pregnancy due to some pretty bad Pelvic Girdle Pain, so I feel like I need to put my body through MAJOR rehab after this baby is born.
WHERE SHOULD I START?
I want ALL of Tracey's books and DVDs, but I'll have to collect them one at a time. Anyone have any recommendations on what to start with immediately post-delivery?
I know I have at least a 3-finger-width diastasis recti, and I have a book ("Lose Your Mummy Tummy" by Julie Tupler) with exercises that I did after my last delivery to put that back in place. But in addition to that, I'd like some eating/diet tips and a light workout that I can start pretty soon after.
I did look at "Super Fit Mama" at the bookstore the other day, and most of the information in it is familiar to me (including the postpartum abdominal exercises), so would I be better off starting with "Lose The Belly Flab" DVD and the "Sexy in 6" book?
Thanks for any suggestions! I'm really looking forward to learning some new things here and maybe finding some other moms who are going through the same struggles I am!
