About Me:
I'm a 34-year-old mother of now 2 boys, who loves to cook, hike, dance and spend time with my precious family. I am a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina and have also spent time doing research in Brazil, where I learned to samba dance. I am looking for ways to get back in shape after the baby, and work different muscles each week. Coming from a family that loves to eat, I do have to watch out---but realize that balance is the key. I'm always striving to gain more balance in my life, and staying in shape is one of the best ways to achieve that. I go back to work full-time in September, therefore, am motivated to maximize this time with my sons as well as make time to get a good jump start on increasing my fitness level.

samba dancing, cross-training & swimming

5-6 times/week

Hi Ariela. I'm so happy to hear that you're seeing results already. I've been a little sleep deprived lately and haven't been getting in many good workouts so I'm feeling a little sluggish. You've just inspired me to get my butt back in gear!! I love all the pictures that you have on your page! How are you doing with the food? Have you found some healthy Mexican dishes?

Hola Ariela! We're doing great. Adrian starts swimming classes next week and we're excited about that! We're both full with work too but having a good time during the summer. Our trip was ok, not a great one cause it was quick but we'll be down in the middle of august again. So cool to see your pictures! Congrats again and have fun while you can with your new baby!!!

Hi Ariela. I'm sorry for the delayed response. We just had my son's one year birthday party on Sunday and I am just now getting back into the swing of things. Congrats on the birth of your second son. I'm sure you're very busy these days!! Hmm, tips to stick with it, huh?? The hardest part for me was getting started with the exercise. I would eat breakfast right after I fed my son and then get ready while he was still awake so that as soon as he went down for his morning nap I could do the entire routine. I really tried to focus on my goal which is to be healthy and strong so that I could keep up with my son and have the energy to be a fun mom. In terms of food, I made the tostada several times and also had a lot of chicken salads with black beans, tomatoes and low fat cheese. I really like the low fat cheese from Trader Joes, it melts much better than the ones at the regular grocery store. I also really like the chicken chorizo from Trader Joes although I don't know how fattening it is so I'm not sure I should admit that here :) but it didn't have grease in the pan when cooked so I know it is tons better than the regular stuff. I ate the whole wheat tortillas which aren't as good as the regular ones but they were decent. I posted a fish taco recipe on one of the other pages, I highly recommend it!!
I was so shocked at how quickly the weight came off with so little exercise! Although I know I won't be as strict about the plan now that I am at my ideal weight, I am definitely going to continue exercising and eating healthy. I feel so much better and have so much more energy. I wish you much success with your plan! Keep me/us posted on your success because it makes you feel accountable! Let me know if you're ever in the area and we can meet up sometime. We like San Diego but aren't there very often. I will let you know when we're in your neck of the wood though!

Hi Ariela!
That's nice to be on maternity leave finally! best of luck to you! Words of wisdom is KEEP WITH IT! DON'T GIVE UP!!!! jajaja! I know it's said already but it's true, if you want to get results on your body you have to be consistent and I've been there, I try to challenge myself a little bit more each day and I also have wanted to not workout a bunch of days but I do it and the rewards are amazing. I have more energy to play with Adrian, more energy to work, more energy for everything! I even feel more creative which is key for what I do!! It has helped!
Anyways, I wanted to ask you if you know about a great park with shade and a good playground for toddlers in San Diego? We're coming down this weekend to visit my in-laws, they live in Bonita. We've been to a park close to them but it's kind of dangerous for toddlers and they don't know any other. Any clues? Thanks and you are great keeping in touch!!
