I run 4 times a week anyway and have been doing that for over a year. My times have never really improved, I just seem to have one speed when I run, regardless of the distance. I've never really lost weight or inches when I run either (in fact I've…

Faster than your husband? My, this is inspiring. Do you run every day or did you just do the quick blasts this month?

I would suggest eating a few more whole grains to boost your calorie requirement. You will need the extra calories and you don't want to take form your energy from your muscles. Good luck!

It's going to hurt tomorrow

Have just done the abs 2 workout & the butt blaster 2 workout from Lose the Belly Flab. Can already tell it's going to hurt tomorrow - that's a good kind of hurt!
For those keeping track, I got 2 runs in over the last week, I'm sure I'll be ready for the Auckland half marathon in a month's time. It won't be my best, but it'll be my last time living here, so I'm going to enjoy it with a girlfriend.
Will recheck measurements tomorrow - I'm not noticing huge changes in my clothes after these co… Continue

Oh No!

I didn't get to run last week because I was relying on others, who weren't aware of how important it was to me. Seeing Tracey's facebook post that she was off for a run, and then a similar comment from another friend spurred me into action. I've signed up to a half marathon in 5 weeks, running it with a friend. It will be my last chance to run across the Auckland Harbour Bridge before we move to Australia.
So, I took time in my work day to go for a run & it nearly killed me! It was only 5km… Continue

Getting into it

So, here I am a couple of weeks into it and it's been up and down so far.....
Getting the downside out of the way - we've had a stressful couple of weeks selling the house & one of the cars in preparation for the move. So there has been a couple of glasses of wine (stress relief & celebratory) which never help, a couple of days of missed exercise and a much needed bar of chocolate....
On the good side, I've been managing to stick to Quickblasts on most days. I have that lovely sore muscl… Continue

Wake up call

I ran a marathon earlier this year but since then, life seems to have got in the way of my training.
Swine flu, a couple of post viral infections for me & 3 sick kids put any thoughts of training on hold. And then the ultimate - my husband got a job overseas. So while the kids and I are here without him, my ability to just run out the door and get some exercise has gone out the window.
We'll be moving to the Gold Coast in Australia in a few months and I need to tighten everything up so I'm r… Continue

Well, I didn't expect this......

At the end of week 4, I haven't noticed much movement on the scale - I'm down another pound & have lost another inch from my hips & from my waist. BUT in a 10K run yesterday, I took 7 minutes off my personal best. I've always been a plodder, but the added strength I have been getting over the past 4 weeks from my quick blasts has made such a difference! I couldn't believe that I did 10K in 51 minutes! I am now running faster than my husband. I am so motivated to keep this up.
