I didn't get to run last week because I was relying on others, who weren't aware of how important it was to me. Seeing Tracey's facebook post that she was off for a run, and then a similar comment from another friend spurred me into action. I've signed up to a half marathon in 5 weeks, running it with a friend. It will be my last chance to run across the Auckland Harbour Bridge before we move to Australia.
So, I took time in my work day to go for a run & it nearly killed me! It was only 5km but it felt so difficult. It's amazing how quickly I've lost running condition.
So my new plan is to run during work hours and then catch up that time at home on the days I can. Small hitch in the plan is the 2 weeks of school holidays starting next week, but I am committed to the Auckland half marathon, so I'll make it work.
