Simple Stretches to Release Lower Back Tightness

It’s not surprising that most of us suffer from lower back tightness considering the amount of time we sit down at our desk or just purely from poor body mechanics picking up kids and toys incorrectly. All these activities can lead to muscle strain causing stiffness. However, who would believe that some simple stretches could help with relieving the pain and prevent future injuries.
Below are two of my best stretches which should be practiced on a regular basis so be sure to do them everyday!
1. Cat-Cow
Reps: 10-15
Start with your hands shoulder width part and your knees hip width part. Exhale and draw your abs towards the spine, pushing away from the floor as your round the lower spine. Next inhale and arch the back in the opposite direction.
2. Crescent Pose
Hold each leg for at least 30 seconds
Start in a lunge position with your front knee over your toes and your hands resting on your knee. Be careful not to arch the lower back and draw your abs towards the spine as you press the pelvis forwards to open up the front of hips.
